Rockin Rob... "Getting ready for huge upgrade.. can't wait"
|
I started my own dj company when
I was about 16 years old (RNR Productions). I was so young when I started
I had to get my parents to open up a bank account, get the business
license, and all that other stuff. The business took off pretty quick due
to me being one of the first dj's to offer cd music. I was buying cd's
back then for $29.99 ea. The first cd I purchased was Michael Jacksons
Thriller. In those days there was not much to pick from (about 25 cd's).
The cd player was $599 LOL!!! I was doing school dances, clubs, bull
roasts, and lots of weddings. Now I manage all of the Amped FM
stations so if you love what you hear you can thank me. If you do not like
what you hear please send a comment. I am always open to
suggestions. I would like thank Laurie, Dolores, Fred & Michelle,
Nate (web site stuff), DJ DPA, Marcus, Broad Automation, ReliaStream,
Jeffrey for all the kick @ss spots, Flash Thompson, and our listeners for
tuning us in. We have a lot going on and a loooooong way to go... Trust me
when I say we have a lot about to happen. Our stations will soon soar
to 500-1000 slot stations. just need to see which ones we want to
take first. |

DJ DPA... "Listen to my mixes on Amped FM Vibe"
|
Ever Since I could remember I've always loved electronic music. Starting with the 80s fusion style music all the way til now with today's vast selection of dance music genres. I started trying to create my own music on a little radio/synth combo that my parents gave me when I was about 8 years old. I made my first song on that little machine and it all started from there. From then on I kept updating my equipment SLOWLY. Years later I had borrowed some equipment that consisted of 2 Synths, A drum machine, and a 4 track digital recorder. I created a couple of songs from that equipment at the time, were very good quality. After that I had been asked to DJ some local parties for friends and friends of friends. I've never really did that professionally but I said what the hell. I did my first party for an older crowd and had to borrow CDs for it but it went good. From there I had been asked to do a younger crowd party. THAT was a disaster. I had my music which was straight techno and they wanted the baltimore type club music. So I didn't get a good response there. From there I did a couple other parties, incorperating my own created music during these shows and they got a great response. I loved DJing and I loved hearing my own creations and watching people enjoy it. I enjoyed Club Hopping back in the day and always hoped to hear myself DJing for a big crowd and possibly incorperating my own brand a club music. After a few years of only doing DJ
mixes for local people and creating my own music with more updated
software and equipment, I was Approached with the Idea for AMPED FM. I
loved the idea of being broadcasted all over the internet and being able
to DJ with a style that includes everything from Breakdance Music all the
way to 2008's club hits. So this is where we are now. The way things are
going, It looks like I finally found
a longterm home where I can utilize both my
passions. |

Nate... "I keep the web site and servers going"
|
Nate here.. I take care of
the stuff you do not see at Amped FM. I manage the Amped FM web
site (coding, design, and custom work) and maintain the Amped FM radio
servers. Things have been running very smooth since Amped started all
this and I make sure it stays that way. I also have my own companies.
If you ever need any web work, custom coding, ect let me
know. |

Laurie (Country Gal)... "Keeping the country station on track"
|
I love it when I look at the Amped FM Country stats. Knowing this is Amped FM's #1 station and it was created by me. Rob and Dan are not huge fans of country but I kept telling them to start one up and see. Now look at the country station. None the less they are true believers now. I keep the country station up date. I am always looking for the latest country music for the station. I also keep an eye on the country indie artists and bands. We have a lot going on here now. New server, new expanded web site, larger radio stations, new radio stations, new contests with cool prizes, and more. Can't wait!!! Thanks for stopping by ~ Laurie |

Q: This is for RR. Do you like all types of music? Do you have a favorite genre?A: Sure do! I am a huge fan of rock, metal, and 80's music. I grew up on 80s music so that would be my favorite genre. I enjoy listening to all genre's though. That is what makes a great dj. Gotta love a wide range of music to make it in this industry as a radio jock.
-
Q: Does DJ DPA have any mix cd's?A: I am actually looking into this right now. It's funny someone asked about this. I had not said anything due to this being in the very early stages. I am checking on the copyright info ect. If I can make it happen I will.
-
Q: Hey Rob 3 words man HIP HOP STATIONA: Wow!! We really get a lot of requests to start a Hip Hop station. Trust me when I say we are going to do one. We have 2 new servers coming to us. Once we finish that we will start working on a Hip Hop station. It would help if we received more donations from you guys.
-
Q: Flash Thompson. I see you deal with the promotions & stuff. How do set something up with your station?A: Just contact me to get the ball rolling. We have already worked with several bands and artists. We normally require a certain amount of items. It also helps if your music relates to our genre's. If you own a business this is also a great way to get some advertising. My email is sales@ampedfm.com.
-
Q: Props to that Nate guy. Your new site is looking really nice. I think it is the coolest radio site I have run across.A: Thanks. Rob layed out the design and I went from there. We wanted to create a site that looked great but also a site with constant info coming in. The finished product should be amazing. I think you will love the new community section that is coming soon.
-
Q: Hey why isn't there any women working with you?A: Umm no women ever offered. If you got some radio skills and would like to help let us know. We have had several women invest in Amped FM but that is about it.
-
Q: Rob.. went to high school with you man. Damn you still doing radio!! You used to hang out with us smokers.A: Ahh the good ole days. Yea that was a funny site. I chilled out with all the people that smoked but I never smoked hehe. I loved the people cause that was all the head bangers. Plus you guys would tell me to play this song & that song on 97. Had a ton of FUN and I do miss those days.
-
Q: Rob doing Country music!! what the hell is that?A: This would not be the first time I got this type of email. I will defend Country music and the reason is this station is our #1 station. You may like one type of music but there is a need for Country. If you do not like it that's ok. This is why we have 5 stations. We plan to start up 2 more stations in the very near future too.
-
Q: I love your stations, your site, and everything about amped fm. How are you doing with donations and stuff?A: Flash here.. I was brought on board just this week and my sole purpose is to promote Amped FM. I am very good at what I do and I know I can get Amped FM where it needs to be. Rob, Dan, and Nate work their @sses off and I plan to do the same. Donations could be a lot better. When I saw the #'s I was shocked. Anyone who really enjoys listening to Amped FM should donate. No amount is to small.
-
Q: DPA would you consider playing other mixes from other dj's? You seem like you would be cool with that.A: Oh yea.. I am already working on promoting other dj's to send in their mixes. I am currently talking to a couple dj's from the UK and other parts of the world. Just let me know and we can go from there.
